Today’s #stickywisdom comes from Wil Anderson who had a great conversation about education and learning (amongst other things) with Julia Zemiro on the Wilosophy podcast. I often get frustrated about my abilities and want to fast forward to some level of competence, but I’m getting better at seeing ‘being crap’ as an exciting starting point and enjoying the process of learning and developing.
On learning and mastery
And I saw how, if you steadily worked at something, what you don’t know gradually erodes and what you do know slowly grows and at some point you’ve gained a degree of mastery. What you know becomes what you are. You know photography and you are a photographer. You know writing and you are a writer.
